‘YUDH NASHIAN VIRUDH’: ON DAY 278, PUNJAB POLICE NABS 66 DRUG SMUGGLERS WITH 2.5KG HEROIN
CHANDIGARH, December 4:- Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 278th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 257 locations on Thursday leading to the arrest of 66 drug smugglers after registration of 52 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 39,175 in 278 days.
The raids have resulted in recovery of 2.5 kg heroin, 40 kg poppy husk, 387 intoxicant pills and Rs 700 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.
