Roadways workers’ strike ends; consensus reached during meeting with Transport Minister

Chandigarh, November 30- Protesting Punjab Roadways and Punbus employees called off their agitation on Sunday after consensus was reached during a meeting with the Transport Minister here at Patti, Tarn Taran. After the meeting, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the suspended employees would be reinstated and the remaining legitimate demands of the employees would also be met soon. The Department of Rural Development and Panchayats has clarified that due to this notification, the 15 Gram Panchayats of Panchayat Samiti, Mohali, are now excluded from the jurisdiction of the concerned Panchayat Samiti/Zila Parishad Mohali area. CHANDIGARH, November 30:- Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 274th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 278 locations on Sunday leading to the arrest of 74 drug smugglers after registration of 59 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 38,634 in 274 days.
