Laljit Bhullar hands over Appointment Letters to Newly Recruited employees of Prisons Department

Chandigarh, 7 August: In a significant step towards strengthening the functioning of jails and ensuring the holistic development of prisoners, Punjab Jails and Transport, Minister Sh. Laljit Singh Bhullar on Thursday handed over appointment letters here to three newly recruited officials of Prisons Department. The new appointments include 02 Warder rank and 01 Group D employee, recruited on compassionate grounds. This shall contribute towards better functioning of the department. These recruitments are part of the ongoing initiative by the Prisons Department to address manpower requirements and improve administrative efficiency across various jails in the state. Chandigarh, August 7: Taking a compassionate initiative, the Punjab Government has granted early release to 108 prisoners serving life sentences who demonstrated exemplary conduct during their incarceration over the past year. Sharing this information here today, the Director Secondary Education Mr. Gurinder Sodhi said that the https://www.epunjabschool.gov.in/ portal regarding the transfer of teachers was opened for August 5 and 6, but following the request from the teachers, the date for submission of online applications for transfers has been extended till August 8, 2025.

Gurmeet Singh Khudian has ordered the Chief Agriculture Officers (CAOs) in the Cotton Belt to submit bi-weekly reports on the progress and condition of the ‘White Gold’ crop, besides directing the field officials to ensure completion of Direct Seeding of Rice (DSR) fields verification by August 10, 2025 so that an incentive of Rs. 1,500 per acre can be directly transferred into the bank accounts of the eligible farmers. Chandigarh August 5, 2025 - The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state on Tuesday arrested Jatinder Singh, Kanugo, posted at Shahkot, Jalandhar district for receiving a bribe of Rs 2000. Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said this case has been registered on an online complaint lodged by a resident of Ludhiana on the Chief Minister Anti Corruption Action line. Chandigarh, August 2: The Personnel Department of the Punjab Government has issued a letter today, providing instructions and extending the deadline for general transfers/postings of government officers and employees across the state. According to the letter, in continuation of Letter No. 07/01/2014-1PP2(3PP2)/382-385 dated 05.06.2025 issued by the Personnel Department, the time period for general transfers/postings in all departments and institutions of the Punjab Government was earlier fixed from 23.06.2025 to 01.08.2025. However, through the latest communication, this period has now been extended until 20.08.2025.
