CHANDIGARH, September 16:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 199th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 359 locations on Tuesday leading to the arrest of 86 drug smugglers after registration of 75 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Chandigarh, September 15: In line with its commitment to ensuring environmentally responsible industrial practices, the Board carried out a comprehensive inspection of all Tyre Pyrolysis Oil (TPO) Units across the State. As many as 17 teams comprising officers of the rank of Environmental Engineer were deployed to conduct a synchronized inspection of 17 operational TPO units located in different districts of Punjab. According to an official spokesperson, the inspections were aimed at assessing compliance with environmental safeguards, safety protocols and pollution control measures mandated under the law and prescribed guidelines. Chandigarh, September 15 In a major escalation of its fight against tax evasion, Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Monday announced that the state Taxation Department has registered two FIRs against seven individuals for their involvement in a massive bogus billing scam including the fraudulent transactions of Rs 385 crore, leading to a tax evasion of Rs 69.57 crore. Revealing the details, the Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the the first FIR, filed on September 12, 2025, targets M/s Rajdhani Iron Products Pvt. Ltd. and its directors, Manish Garg and Rythem Garg.
