Chandigarh, November 26:-Punjab’s Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, announced that “Punjab Sakhi Shakti Melas” will be organized across all districts of the state to provide a vibrant platform for women to showcase their skills, creativity, and handmade products. The first mela commenced today, November 26 in Sangrur at the Ranbir College Ground, and will continue till November 30. These melas are being organized by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats in collaboration with the Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission and the Department of Industries and Commerce. Chandigarh, November 26:-In a path breaking initiative aimed at strengthening the functioning of jails in the State besides ensuring the further fine tuning of infrastructure, the Jails Minister, Punjab, Laljit Singh Bhullar today conducted a piping ceremony of newly promoted prison officials at his office in Punjab Civil Secretariat here. Today, stars were pinned on the shoulders of 6 AIGs/Superintendent Central Jails. Notably, 14 officials have been promoted including 6 AIGs/Superintendent Central Jails and 8 DSPs Grade-1.
