High-Intensity Car Blast Near Red Fort Metro Station, New Delhi

New Delhi, November 10, 2025 — A high-intensity explosion occurred in a vehicle near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station (Subhash Marg traffic signal) in Old Delhi this evening, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries.

​The incident took place at approximately 6:52 PM IST.

Key Details:

  • Incident Type: High-intensity explosion in a slow-moving Hyundai i20 car.
  • Location: Near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort Metro Station, Subhash Marg, New Delhi.
  • Casualties: The blast tragically claimed the lives of at least 8 to 10 individuals and left approximately 20 to 24 others injured. Casualties include the occupants of the primary vehicle and pedestrians/occupants of nearby vehicles.
  • Damage: The blast triggered a massive fire that quickly engulfed the primary vehicle and damaged several other nearby cars, auto-rickshaws, and e-rickshaws.
  • Response: The Delhi Fire Service immediately rushed seven fire tenders to the spot and brought the fire under control by 7:29 PM. Ambulances and emergency services swiftly transported the injured to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital.
