‘YUDH NASHIAN VIRUDH’: ON DAY 226, PUNJAB POLICE NABS 79 DRUG SMUGGLERS WITH 2.9KG HEROIN, 2KG OPIUM

CHANDIGARH, October 13: Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 226th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 364 locations on Monday leading to the arrest of 79 drug smugglers after registration of 63 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 32,867 in 226 days. Chandigarh, October 13: In a historic decision, the Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday gave nod for enhancing the compensation for crop loss to farmers upto Rs 20,000 per acre. A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held here under the Chief Minister.
