Foolproof security arrangements for polling at Tarn Taran Bye election by ECI: CEO

Chandigarh, November 9:- In view of the sensitivity of the Border district of Tarn Taran, in which Bye poll is going to be held for Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency on 11.11.25, Election Commission of India (ECI) had made foolproof security arrangements through District Election machinery and had finalized the deployment plan in consultation with Observers deployed by ECI. Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C informed that 12 Companies of Central armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed in the Assembly Constituency, which is one of the largest deployment of CAPF ever by ECI in any bye election. Paddy arrival nearing 150 LMT mark; crosses 144 LMT figure

Chandigarh, November 8:- In a major milestone, the paddy arrival throughout the mandis is inching towards the coveted 150 Lakh Metric Tonne (LMT) mark. The arrival till date has crossed the 144 Lakh Metric Tonne mark with over 125 LMT lifted. CHANDIGARH, November 8:- Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 252nd day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 292 locations on Saturday leading to the arrest of 71 drug smugglers after registration of 50 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 35,737 in 252 days. In this regard, Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that during the current financial year, an amount of ₹3624.46 crore has been released under various social security schemes.
