Chandigarh, March 29: The Punjab Government has released an amount of Rs. 20 crore under the Ashirwad Scheme for the beneficiary families belonging to Scheduled Castes. This was disclosed by Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities. Sharing further information, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that during the current financial year 2024-25, an amount of Rs. 20 crore has been released after processing 3,922 applications received from 12 districts under the Ashirwad Scheme. Chandigarh, March 27 A new water works will be constructed in Chakeria village of Vidhan Sabha constituency Mansa, while the old water works of another village Aklia will be upgraded. This information was given by Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Hardip Singh Mundian in response to a question by Mansa MLA Dr. Vijay Singla during Question Hour in Punjab Vidhan Sabha today. CHANDIGARH, March 26:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 26th day, Punjab Police on Wednesday conducted raids at 483 locations leading to the arrest of 77 drug smugglers after registration of 55 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Harbhajan Singh ETO on Wednesday informed the House that the proposal to install cat's eye reflectors on roads is under consideration of the department so as to prevent road mishaps especially during the foggy weather in winter.
