Chandigarh, March 10: In a significant move to conserve groundwater and provide farmers with a profitable alternative to water-guzzling paddy crop, Punjab is all set to introduce a new high-yield maize hybrid, PMH 17. This dual-purpose hybrid is suitable for both grain and silage production.  Disclosing this here today, Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister S. Chandigarh, March 10: Punjab’s Social Security, Women, and Child Development Minister, Dr. Baljit Kaur, stated that financial assistance has been provided to nearly 2.25 lakh children across the state. Providing further details, Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that a total of ₹367.59 crore has been  provided as financial assistance for 2.25 lakh destitute children in Punjab. Chandigarh, March 9: The Punjab State Women Commission had directed Punjab Police Headquarters to submit an action-taken report by March 9, 2025, regarding the matter concerning renowned singer Sunanda Sharma, following her public plea, "Mennu roti joga taan chhad dio” (If you allow me to earn my livelihood, then let me be).
