Chandigarh, July 24: Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur today handed over appointment letters to newly recruited employees of the department at Punjab Bhawan. Sharing further details, Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that under the ongoing recruitment drive of the department, appointments have been made to 10 posts of Anganwadi Supervisors, 6 posts of Superintendents (Children Homes), and 1 post of District Social Security Officer. Vigilance Bureau nabs Assistant Sub Inspector red-handed accepting Rs 12000 bribe

Chandigarh, July 23, 2025 –  Continuing its ongoing relentless drive against corruption in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), has arrested an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Jagtar Singh, posted at Police Station Sadar, Sangrur, red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs. 12,000. Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said the accused police official has been arrested following a complaint filed by a resident of Sangrur district. He further added that the complainant has approached the VB alleging that he has been granted bail by the high court but the said ASI had demanded Rs 15,000 bribe to join him the investigation into this case.
