It will help to provide immediate support and address issues of farmers, arthiyas (commission agents) and labourers in real-time across all grain markets (mandis) in the state, informed S. Chandigarh, October 6, 2025:  The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has arrested Balwant Singh, Superintendent, posted at the Punjab Roadways depot-1 in Jalandhar red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 40000. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB stated that the case was registered based on a complaint filed by a retired driver of Punjab Roadways. “The complainant has approached the VB alleging that the aforementioned Superintendent has demanded Rs 50000 in lieu of preparing his overtime bills pending prior to his retirement.
