Sri Anandpur Sahib, October 5- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday dedicated the state of art memorial constructed on the name of legendary Sikh martyr Baba Jiwan Singh (Bhai Jaita Ji) at a cost of Rs 20 crore. The Chief Minister bowed his head with deep reverence and respect before the supreme sacrifice of Bhai Jeevan Singh Ji, who attained martyrdom fighting against one and a quarter lakh Mughal soldiers in the historic Battle of Chamkaur Sahib. CHANDIGARH, October 4:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 217th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 338 locations on Saturday leading to the arrest of 82 drug smugglers after registration of 63 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Chandigarh, October 4: Ensuring safe and secure travel for school-going children, the Punjab Government has intensified the enforcement of the Safe School Vehicle Policy across the state. Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that strict monitoring and enforcement measures are being carried out on priority. Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that from 2022 till July 2025, a total of 13,819 school buses were checked across Punjab, out of which 4,351 buses were issued challans and 87 were impounded. She further said that keeping in view the winter fog conditions, a special drive was launched in August during which 1,486 school buses were checked and 561 challans were issued.
