Chandigarh 4 October 2025: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that various religious and other  organizations had lodged protest against the Central Government decision regarding ban on the Jathas for visiting the Gurdwara Sahib situated in Pakistan. He said that the Central Government has now adopted a pragmatic approach by allowing the Jathas to visit Gurdwara Sahib  in Pakistan on the occasion of the Gurpurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji  and it will lead to establish communal harmony as well as peace between both the countries. This will  enhance trade between both nations. Farmers and business community can also be benefitted.

CHANDIGARH, October 3:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 216th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 328 locations on Friday leading to the arrest of 47 drug smugglers after registration of 45 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 31,684 in 216 days.           The raids have resulted in recovery of 2.3 kg heroin, 3.1 kg opium, 25 kg poppy husk, 1584 intoxicant tablets/capsules and Rs 3250 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.      &nbs...

Chandigarh, October 3 During a series of meetings held today with representatives from five employee organizations to discuss their demands, Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema, who also chairs the Cabinet Sub-Committee on employee issues, announced that the Punjab Government has issued a notification today to grant maternity leave benefits to ASHA and ASHA Facilitators in accordance with the Maternity Benefits Act, 1961. Congratulating the ‘ASHA Workers Te Facilitators Nirol Union’, the Finance Minister said that under this new notification, ASHA and ASHA Facilitators will be eligible to receive fixed monthly honorarium while on maternity leave. Harjot Singh Bains todays laid a foundation stone for a Rs 35.48-crore high-level bridge over the Swan river near Bhallari village in Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency. The 511-metre long bridge will connect Bhallari to Mahindpur-Khera Kalmot, enhancing connectivity for border areas like Khera Kalmot, Bhangla and Majari. While addressing the gathering, S.
