Jalandhar, February 1 : Ahead of Basant Panchami, Jalandhar Rural Police has warned of strict action against anyone using or selling Chinese kite string (synthetic manjha), including booking them for attempt to murder. Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, today announced that special police teams will conduct raids across the district to check the sale and use of this deadly string. "Despite being banned, some people continue to sell and use Chinese string, putting innocent lives at risk. We will book offenders under non-bailable sections, including attempt to murder," the SSP Khakh said. Vigilance Bureau nabs PSPCL JE taking Rs 7000 bribe

Chandigarh February 1, 2025 -  The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has apprehended Sandeep Kumar, Junior Engineer (J.E), posted at Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) office, Bhucho in Bathinda red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 7000. Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above mentioned accused have been arrested based on a complaint lodged by Gurdas Singh, a resident of Bhucho Kalan, in Bathinda district.
