Chandigarh, October 18: Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that the Punjab Government has released an amount of ₹84.26 lakh to facilitate the free and concessional travel of visually impaired and differently-abled persons in government buses. This amount forms part of the budget earmarked for providing transport facilities to persons with disabilities. Chandigarh, October 16, 2025 – Continuing its relentless drive against corruption in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) arrested a deed writer, Deepak Kumar, working in the tehsil complex of Pathankot, red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000. An official spokesperson for the state VB disclosed that the accused was arrested following a complaint from a resident of Bungol village in Pathankot district. The spokesperson stated that the complainant approached the bureau alleging that after purchasing land, he had met the accused to get the property registered.
