CEO Punjab Holds Meeting with Political Parties on Special Summary Revision Ahead of Bye-Election in Tarn Taran

Chandigarh, September 2: Ahead of the bye-election to the Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency- 21, Sibin C, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab, convened a meeting with representatives of recognised political parties to discuss the ongoing Special Summary Revision of the photo electoral roll, with 1st July 2025 as the qualifying date. During the meeting, the CEO, Punjab apprised the political parties of the draft publication of the electoral roll, which was carried out on 2nd September 2025. He informed them that the rationalization and integration of polling stations in the constituency had been completed as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. Vigilance Bureau nabs Forest Guard red handed accepting Rs. 1.5 lakh bribe

Chandigarh September 1, 2025 : The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, on Monday has arrested Amandeep Singh, Forest Guard, holding additional Block Incharge, Forest Range Office, Patiala red-handed while he was accepting a bribe Rs. 1,50,000. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state VB said the arrested accused was demanded bribe in lieu of a complainant for issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) related to land purchased for a Nursing Home at Devigarh Road, Patiala.
