Chandigarh, July 9 Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today directed the Transport Department to hold a meeting with various unions of the department in the next 15 days to consider their demands and submit a concrete report to the Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by him. Following this directive, the striking Transport Department unions announced to withdraw their strike. The Finance Minister issued these directions during the meeting with the unions at Punjab Bhawan, which lasted for about two hours. Chandigarh, July 9:           Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C informed that the Election Commission has issued Show Cause Notices to 8 registered unrecognized political parties which have not contested any election to the House of the People or any State Legislative Assembly, including by-elections, since 2019. Papers will not be submitted on May 11 and 12 due to gazetted holidays. The scrutiny of papers is scheduled for May 15 and the last date for the withdrawal of candidature is May 17.
