Chandigarh, August 18: In a big relief for higher education in the state, the Supreme Court of India has allowed 1,158 Assistant Professors and Librarians to continue their services in government colleges until fresh recruitment takes place. This decision would ensure uninterrupted education for students in government colleges across Punjab. Welcoming the Apex Court's decision to allow 1,158 Assistant Professors and Librarians to continue serving in government colleges, Punjab Higher Education Minister S. Under this scheme, the government has given an opportunity to pay the outstanding tax with limited penalty.
