Prime Minister’s Special Address at UGC’s ‘Investing in People’ Webinar

Faridkot, March 5 : BFUHS Participates in University Grants Commission’s Webinar on “Investing in People”. Today, the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, organized a webinar themed “Investing in People” as part of the Post-Budget Consultation series following the Budget announcements of 2025. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, actively participated in the event, with faculty and students from all its constituent colleges joining the webinar. The heads of departments of BFUHS attended the session from the office of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood.
The webinar, led by the Department of Higher Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, focused on “Theme 4: Investing in People,” encompassing 12 key budget announcements across various Ministries and Departments. It commenced with a panel discussion featuring prominent experts, stakeholders, and concerned Secretaries, followed by parallel breakout sessions addressing the budget announcements in detail. The event concluded with a final session, highlighted by a special address from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during the plenary session at 1:30 PM.
Prime Minister laid the emphasis on infrastructure investment and industry relationship to boost economy through innovations. In the mission Mode NEP, Technical Integration, Digitalization and learning models are to be addressed. Industry and Education insights need mutual understanding. PHCs need expansion. Tourism Industry needs to focus on hotel, transport and Health tourism inclusive where in Health tourism include yoga & wellness and education tourism also role of AI and innovation driven education was stressed upon. Most important shall be start up ecosystem integration in education and training.
The objectives of the webinar included ensuring effective communication of the announced budget measures, gathering inputs from sector experts for policy formulation, deliberating on implementation strategies, and fostering ownership among stakeholders for effective execution. This initiative is part of a broader effort to translate Budget 2025 announcements into actionable outcomes, aligning with the Government of India’s vision of empowering citizens through education and skill development.
