Chandigarh, March 7:  The Punjab Government provides a one-time financial assistance of ₹20,000 to families under the National Family Benefit Scheme in case of the death of the primary breadwinner of the household. Sharing more details, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that families fulfilling the eligibility criteria can avail the benefits of this scheme in case of any kind of death (natural or otherwise). She further clarified that a woman in the household who is the primary source of income will also be considered a breadwinner, and her family will be eligible for financial assistance under this scheme. Chandigarh/ Jalandhar, March 5: In yet another crackdown against drug peddlers, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, in coordination with the Municipal Corporation, on Wednesday demolished an illegal property belonging to a drug smuggler. The encroached structure, constructed on government land alledgely using drug money, was razed as part of the ongoing campaign "Yudh Nashian Virudh." Chandigarh/Ludhiana, March 4* In a continued effort to combat drug smuggling and their illegal encroachments Under “Yudh Nashya Virudh” programme, the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police, in collaboration with railway authorities, have demolished unauthorized structures built on encroached railway land in Talwandi Kalan village of the district, by two smugglers. The structures were illegally occupied by two drug smugglers, both of whom are facing multiple cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
