Chandigarh, March 13: In a significant step towards fiscal prudence and efficient resource management, the Punjab Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), in the presence of the Transport Minister S Laljit Singh Bhullar, for the supply of diesel to Punjab Roadways/PUNBUS buses for the next five years. Briefing the media persons here at Punjab Bhawan after the signing of MoU ceremony, S. Chandigarh, March 12: Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar today directed officials of the transport department to ensure government bus services on every route throughout the state. While chairing a meeting to review the functioning of Punjab Roadways/PUNBUS, PRTC and the State Transport Commissioner's office, S. Chandigarh, March 10 – The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Kulwinder Singh, posted at Police Station City, Kapurthala, for accepting a bribe of Rs 3,500 and demanding an additional Rs 10,000. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB stated that the said police official was arrested following an online complaint lodged by a resident of Kapurthala on the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line. Providing details in this regard, Social Security, Women, and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that financial assistance amounting to ₹1042.63 crore has been provided to widows and  destitute women in the state till January 2025.
