CHANDIGARH, March 16:           With the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state entered 16th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 424 locations on Sunday leading to the arrest of 63 drug smugglers after registration of 45 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Chandigarh, March 15: With an aim to uplift socio-economic status of livestock farmers of the state by improving the germ plasm of milch animals, Punjab Government will procure around 2 lakh doses of sexed semen worth Rs. 5.3 crore, announced S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries, Punjab. Sangrur, March 14:  Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Punjab Mr. Kumar Rahul visited Civil Hospital Sangrur and took stock of the health of female patients admitted in the Gynaecology ward. He spoke to the family members of the patients and the doctors present on the spot and while addressing the media, he said that he has interacted with 14 patients and all of them are healthy. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has transferred Rs. 4.34 Crore into the bank accounts of over 9500 farmers under the first phase of the Direct Sowing of Rice (DSR) initiative for the Kharif 2024 season.  Disclosing this here today, Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that during kharif 2024,  over 24000 farmers have registered 2.53 lakh acres on the DSR portal.
