Chandigarh, August 22: Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman S. Jasvir Singh Garhi has taken suo moto notice of the alleged encroachment on the land belonging to Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj at village Dhaleta in Jalandhar district by the civil administration and police. He has sought a report from the Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Jalandhar. Providing details in this regard, S. Jasvir Singh Garhi stated that the matter came to his notice through a newspaper report, which alleged that the land of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji had been encroached upon by the civil administration and police at village Dhaleta. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government has issued orders for special girdawari to compensate for crop damage and other losses caused by rising water levels in rivers.
