Chandigarh, July 17: The Government of Punjab intends to bring in a new industrial policy that will be the best in India and will pave the way for providing a progressive climate for industrial growth and employment generation in Punjab. The policy will be designed after extensive consultation with various industries, said Sanjeev Arora. As a first step, the Government of Punjab is ready to notify  the sector-specific committees to allow for a structured and collaborative engagement between industry and the Government. These committees shall function for a period of 2 years from the date of notification, extendable upon the discretion of the Government. PUNJAB INCREASES PUBLIC ACCESSIBILITY TO SERVICES WITH 44 MORE SEWA KENDRAS

Chandigarh, July 16: In a move to enhance citizen experience through more efficient governance and service delivery, the Punjab Government is expanding its services network by adding 44 more Sewa Kendras across the state. This expansion includes construction of 16 new Sewa Kendras, while, re-opening of 28 previously closed Kendras, informed Mr. Aman Arora, Minister of Good Governance and Information Technology, Punjab. Apart from this, counters at six Sewa Kendras are also being increased in the state. Chandigarh, July 15: On a motion moved by Punjab Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha expressed deep sorrow over the death of eminent Punjabi Sikh runner Fauja Singh and paid tribute to him. Dr. Ravjot Singh expressed grief over the demise of 114-year-old Fauja Singh in a road accident. He said that he was the world’s oldest runner who had brought glory to the Sikh community worldwide through marathon races. The Minister said that Fauja Singh Ji will always remain in our memories. He prayed to God to grant the departed soul a place at His feet and to give the family the strength to bear the loss. It is worth mentioning that yesterday, in a road accident, S. Fauja Singh died. He was walking outside his house when a car hit him.

CHANDIGARH, July 14:           With the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state completed 135 days, Punjab Police on Monday arrested 109 drug smugglers and recovered 2.7 kg heroin, 1.5 kg opium, 42 kg poppy husk and Rs 7.18 lakh drug money  from their possession.
