Bhagwant Singh Mann led government has taken a key decision aimed at boosting the real estate sector by formulating a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for issuing licenses to develop colonies. Hardeep Singh Mundian said the Housing and Urban Development department has prepared the SOP to streamline the process of granting licenses for developing colonies in areas under its jurisdiction. Chandigarh, November 1, 2025 –  In its ongoing crackdown on corruption, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) today arrested a Forestor, Surinderjit Pal, posted at Forest Department Mahilpur in district Hoshiarpur. He was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 15000 from a complainant  resident of village Thidan, in tehsil Garshankar. Disclosing this a spokesperson of VB said the complainant has been engaged in the wood cutting business for the past 10-12 years.
