‘YUDH NASHIAN VIRUDH’: ON DAY 273, PUNJAB POLICE NABS 67 DRUG SMUGGLERS

CHANDIGARH, November 29:-           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 273rd day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 334 locations on Saturday leading to the arrest of 67 drug smugglers after registration of 52 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Chandigarh, November 26, 2025: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), in line with the zero tolerance policy adopted by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government, has apprehended an ASI Jaswinder Singh posted at police station Bhogpur, district Jalandhar for demanding a bribe Rs. 5 lakh. Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the state VB said the arrest has been made following a complaint lodged by a resident of Maqsudan, Jalandhar city on the Chief Minister’s Anti Corruption Action Line portal.
