Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to providing equal opportunities in higher education to students from Scheduled Castes. Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that 1,66,958 SC students have applied through the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme on the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Scholarship Portal. She added that the scheme aims to provide financial support to deserving but economically weaker students so that no student faces obstacles in continuing their education due to lack of funds. CHANDIGARH, October 4:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 217th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 338 locations on Saturday leading to the arrest of 82 drug smugglers after registration of 63 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Chandigarh, October 2: The Public Works Department of Punjab is playing a vital role in strengthening the state’s road network and accelerating the pace of development. Providing details about ongoing development works under various schemes, Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. stated that under the NABARD scheme, the construction of 279.64 km of roads and 8 bridges was completed during the financial year 2024-25, with an expenditure of Rs. 104.28 crore.
