Chandigarh, 3 October: Punjab’s Minister for Social Security, Women & Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur, stated that the State Government has allocated a budget of ₹1170 crore for the financial assistance scheme for widows and destitute women for the financial year 2025-26. She informed that till August 2025, ₹593.14 crore has already been disbursed directly to 6.66 lakh women beneficiaries. CHANDIGARH, October 2:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 215th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 288 locations on Thursday leading to the arrest of 78 drug smugglers after registration of 60 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 31,649 in 215 days.           The raids have resulted in recovery of 4 kg heroin, 500 grams opium, 842 intoxicant tablets/capsules and Rs 2.13 lakh drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.        &nb...
