Chandigarh, November 9:- In view of the sensitivity of the Border district of Tarn Taran, in which Bye poll is going to be held for Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency on 11.11.25, Election Commission of India (ECI) had made foolproof security arrangements through District Election machinery and had finalized the deployment plan in consultation with Observers deployed by ECI. Paddy arrival nearing 150 LMT mark; crosses 144 LMT figure

CHANDIGARH, November 8:- Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 252nd day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 292 locations on Saturday leading to the arrest of 71 drug smugglers after registration of 50 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 35,737 in 252 days. Chandigarh, November 8: The Punjab Government is continuously working to ensure the welfare and social security of weaker sections of society. In this regard, Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that during the current financial year, an amount of ₹3624.46 crore has been released under various social security schemes. She said that the Punjab Government has made a budgetary provision of ₹6175 crore for the financial year 2025–26 to ensure that all beneficiaries receive timely assistance under these schemes.
