CHANDIGARH, September 25:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 208th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 353 locations on Thursday leading to the arrest of 91 drug smugglers after registration of 74 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 30,944 in 208 days.           The raids have resulted in recovery of 8.7 kg heroin, 13 kg poppy husk, 5 kg opium, 21 kg ganja, 1113 intoxicant tablets/capsules and Rs 8100 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.    ...

Chandigarh, September 25, 2025 – The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has secured a major breakthrough in a corruption case by attaching 8 properties and three bank accounts belonging to former Deputy Director of the Punjab Food and Civil Supplies Department, Rakesh Kumar Singla, his wife Rachna Singla, and their sons Swaraj Singla and Siddarth Singla. This action was taken following a court order in the ongoing criminal cases against them.
