Chandigarh, September 23: Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian today informed that the flood situation in the State has stabilised as all relief camps have now been closed with the remaining inmates returned to their homes. He said that the supply of essential relief material to the affected families will continue uninterrupted. The Revenue Minister said that a total of 219 relief camps were opened at the peak of floods across Punjab, accommodating 8,270 inmates from time to time. With improving conditions, the numbers kept declining and today not a single camp remains active, marking a complete return of all displaced families to their villages and homes. Chandigarh, September 23 Ensuring the financial security of retired employees of the state's Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis, Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday announced that the pensions for these employees will be disbursed directly into their bank accounts before the 10th of every month. This move is expected to benefit over 3,000 pensioners, ensuring they receive their dues in a timely and predictable manner. CHANDIGARH, September 22:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 205th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 395 locations on Monday leading to the arrest of 81 drug smugglers after registration of 59 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 30,540 in 205 days.           The raids have resulted in recovery of 922 grams heroin, 4 kg poppy husk, 336 intoxicant tablets/capsules and Rs 980 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.        &nb...
