Chandigarh, February 6: In a bid to further enhance governance and accessibility of government services to the citizens of the state, Punjab Governance Reforms Minister Mr. Aman Arora, on Thursday, announced the expansion of the "Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar" scheme with the addition of 363 more citizen-centric services, allowing people to avail all services, being offered through Sewa Kendras, at their doorsteps. This initiative now offers doorstep delivery of 406 services, including Aadhar card issuance, driving licenses and passport applications. Chandigarh, February 4, 2025 –  The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Satnam Singh and Sarabjit Singh Numberdar, both residents of Sarupwal village in Sultanpur Lodhi tehsil, for their involvement in a multi-crore scam at the State Bank of Patiala (now State Bank of India), Sultanpur Lodhi branch, district Kapurthala. The accused, in connivance with bank officials, private individuals, and officers/employees of the state Revenue Department, embezzled crores of rupees through fraudulent means. Jalandhar, 3 February: In a major breakthrough against interstate drug trafficking, Jalandhar Rural Police has successfully dismantled a sophisticated narcotics supply chain operating between Bihar and Punjab. Chandigarh, February 2 The Punjab Government has released ₹55.45 crore as the state’s share for the financial year 2024-25 under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Caste (SC) Students. This initiative will benefit 86,583 students from the sanctioned budget.  Providing further details, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, stated that ensuring education for Scheduled Caste students is a top priority for the state government.
