Providing further details, Chairman Kanwardeep Singh stated that children in the state are currently facing significant challenges due to extreme cold and dense fog. Chandigarh, January 9: Punjab Water Resources Department has decided to close Sirhind Feeder for 32 days for urgent works. Disclosing this here today, Spokesperson of the department said that subjected to weather conditions and status of crops, it was decided that the Sirhind Feeder will remain closed for the works of relining from January 10 to February 10, 2025 (both days inclusive). He further said that the state government has already issued notification in this regard under Rule 63 of Rules framed under the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, 1873 (Act No.VIII of 1873).
