Chandigarh, September 3: The Punjab State Information Commission, while hearing a case, has ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the issuance of a police clearance certificate to a person facing criminal charges. Chandigarh, September 2: Ahead of the bye-election to the Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency- 21, Sibin C, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab, convened a meeting with representatives of recognised political parties to discuss the ongoing Special Summary Revision of the photo electoral roll, with 1st July 2025 as the qualifying date. During the meeting, the CEO, Punjab apprised the political parties of the draft publication of the electoral roll, which was carried out on 2nd September 2025.
