CHANDIGARH, October 16:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 229th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 427 locations on Thursday leading to the arrest of 95 drug smugglers after registration of 82 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 33,219 in 229 days.           The raids have resulted in recovery of 3.4 kg heroin, 7.5 kg poppy husk, 878 intoxicant tablets/capsules and Rs 9210 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.        &nb...

Chandigarh, 14 October: Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that the Punjab Government has released a total amount of ₹8.76 crore for 1,718 beneficiaries from backward classes and economically weaker sections under the Ashirwad Scheme during the current financial year 2025-26.
