Chandigarh 30 November 2025:- The State Election Commission has been informed by Department of Rural Development and Panchayats that in view of the notification dated 28.11.2025 issued by Department of Local Government, 15 villages adjoining Municipal Corporation, Mohali have now been merged into the boundaries of Municipal Corporation, Mohali. The Department of Rural Development and Panchayats has clarified that due to this notification, the 15 Gram Panchayats of Panchayat Samiti, Mohali, are now excluded from the jurisdiction of the concerned Panchayat Samiti/Zila Parishad Mohali area. CHANDIGARH, November 28:-           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 272nd day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 268 locations on Friday leading to the arrest of 95 drug smugglers after registration of 74 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Chandigarh, 27 November 2025:- In its ongoing crackdown on corruption, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) today arrested Nirmal Singh, Junior Engineer of PSPCL posted at Dasuya, district Hoshiarpur and Satnam Singh, government approved Contractor caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 15000/- from the complainant. Disclosing this a spokesperson of VB said that the complainant, a taxi driver and resident of tehsil Dausya, district Hoshiarpur who owns a 13-marla plot in the village through which three-phase wires passed to the motor of one Kanta S/o Desa Singh of his village.
