Chandigarh, August 5: The e-KYC process is gathering momentum with each passing day and till now the process has been completed with regard to 1,27, 84000 (1.27 Crore) beneficiaries. The Districts of Mansa, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala are the top 3 places respectively in this regard. In a review meeting held here today at the Anaj Bhawan, the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak was apprised by the senior officers of the department about the latest position concerning the e-KYC process. CHANDIGARH, August 4:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 156th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 356 locations on Monday leading to the arrest of 87 drug smugglers after registration of 63 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. Chandigarh, August 2: Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman Sardar Jasvir Singh Garhi has directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, to appear in person and submit a report during the hearing of a pending case. Providing details in this regard, a spokesperson of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission said that Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Assistant Director, Physical/Audio Forensic Science Laboratory, Phase-4, Mohali (District SAS Nagar), had submitted a written complaint on January 20, 2025. Chandigarh, August 1 Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema announced on Friday that the Punjab government is making significant progress in processing pending Goods and Services Tax (GST) refund applications by sanctioning 1,408 applications in July, amounting to a total refund of Rs 241.17 crore. Addressing a press conference here, the Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that as of July 31, 2025, the state has cleared a substantial portion of the backlog, demonstrating a concerted effort to streamline the refund process for businesses.
