Chandigarh/Kapurthala, August 21: Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian today announced that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government has issued orders for special girdawari to compensate for crop damage and other losses caused by rising water levels in rivers. During his visit to the flood-affected villages of Baupur Jadeed and Sangra in Sultanpur Lodhi, where he met with affected families, S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is personally monitoring relief operations in areas affected by rising water levels in rivers and the Punjab Government will provide complete compensation for crop losses and other damages suffered by the people. Chandigarh, August 20: In yet another move towards the welfare of labourers, the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has approved a 10 percent increase in Mandi labour rates. This decision was taken during a Board of Directors meeting chaired by S. Harchand Singh Barsat, Chairman Punjab Mandi Board. Notably, the Mandi labour rate has been hiked from Rs 17.50 to Rs 19.26 per 37.5 kg bag of paddy, marking an increase of Rs 1.76 per bag.  S.
