CHANDIGARH, November 6:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 250th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 276 locations on Thursday leading to the arrest of 91 drug smugglers after registration of 65 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. CHANDIGARH, November 5:           Continuing the war against drugs “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 249th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 381 locations on Wednesday leading to the arrest of 97 drug smugglers after registration of 74 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 35,377 in 249 days.           The raids have resulted in recovery of 1.3 kg heroin, 900 grams opium, 28 kg poppy husk, 14,959 intoxicant pills and Rs 3.50 lakhs drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.      ...

Chandigarh, November 3: In a major milestone, the paddy lifting throughout the mandis has crossed the 100 Lakh Metric Tonne (LMT) mark with over 104 LMT lifted. Terming the accelerated pace of procurement and lifting as testimony to the farmer friendly policies of the Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said that the necessary arrangements have been made in the mandis with a view to ensure that no stakeholder whether the farmers, Commission Agents (Arhtiyas), Labourers don't encounter any difficulty.
