PUNJAB POLICE, NDRF, SDRF & ARMY WORKING IN TANDEM; OVER 7600 PEOPLE RESCUED FROM FLOOD-AFFECTED AREAS
CHANDIGARH, August 29:
With the heavy rainfall in the catchment areas continues to swell the Sutlej, Beas, Ravi and Ujh rivers, Punjab Police along with the teams of Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Civil Administration have been working in tandem and as many as 7689 people have been evacuated and shifted to safe places so far, informed Special Director General of Police (Special DGP) Law and Order Arpit Shukla here on Friday.
The districts, which are affected by floods, includes Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Fazilka and Ferozepur.
