Chandigarh, February 28- In accordance with the commitment of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led State Government to ensure the convenience of the common people in availing various services, the Housing and Urban Development Department has decided to extend the last date for the facility of registration of plots without NoC to 31st August. Vigilance Bureau arrests ASI red-handed accepting Rs 15000 bribe

Chandigarh, February 27, 2025 –  In its ongoing drive against corruption, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), on Thursday arrested Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Ranjit Singh, posted at police station Anaj Mandi, Patiala, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. Disclosing the details, a VB spokesperson stated that a police case was registered against the complainant at the aforementioned Police Station and ASI Ranjit Singh, the investigating officer, had demanded Rs 15,000 in exchange for helping him in the said case. Chandigarh, February 27, 2025 –  Continuing its crackdown on corruption, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), on Thursday has arrested a Punjab Home Guard (PHG) volunteer Malkit Singh, posted at Police Station City-1, Sangrur for demanding a bribe of Rs 80000 on behalf of police personnel. Disclosing the details, a VB spokesperson stated that the accused has been arrested after an investigation of a complaint lodged at the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line. According to the complainant, the accused initially demanded Rs 5 lakh bribe on behalf of police personnel to help the complainant’s husband not to register a drug-related case.
