Vigilance Bureau arrests ASI for taking Rs 3,500 bribe, Demanded Rs 10,000 more to file chargesheet

Chandigarh, March 10 – The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Kulwinder Singh, posted at Police Station City, Kapurthala, for accepting a bribe of Rs 3,500 and demanding an additional Rs 10,000. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB stated that the said police official was arrested following an online complaint lodged by a resident of Kapurthala on the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line.
