Chandigarh, October 12: Committed to ensuring potable water supply to every household across the city, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has achieved significant progress in curbing incidents of water contamination, informed Punjab Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh here today. The exercise, aimed at improving the water distribution network, has started yielding positive results with complaints of water contamination dropping from 608 in 2022-23 to 318 in 2025, till date. CHANDIGARH/ BARNALA, October 12:  In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in a joint operation with Barnala Police, have arrested two operatives of the Davinder Bambiha Gang and recovered six pistols from their possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Sunday.  Those arrested have been identified as Sandeep Singh, a resident of Hanumangarh Town in Rajasthan and Sekher, a resident of Kaithal in Haryana.
